This is a great Sudoku app, especially with it being free.

Really like this app. It can be addicting. Like the way the numbers will highlight. Only hint I have used is the one to erase incorrect entries, which can really come in handy if you get off on a wrong track. Also like the rating feature. Actually, whats not to like.
One downfall. On several of the difficulties in order to beat the more than 80% of people I hadto basically sit there copying my answers down after already solving it. It seems a lot of people have been doing this and cheating, throwing off how good youre actually doing in the scheme of things. At one point all I did was quickly use my arrows to put in the numbers (already knew the answers before the puzzle launched) and I still only got better than 98% of people. The app is solid and Ill continue using it, I just wanted to point out this bug in the stats.
I have played several versions of Sudoku. This one is one of the best. Five stars.
this game is awesome i love having all the different levels of difficultly. Love sudoku
great app with varying levels of challenge….love it
I was worried at first when I saw that the last update was in 2011, but when you get it completely right the first time there’s no need to revisit it. I have a Retina MBP and it looks fine on it as well. Solid in every respect.
I am not too good at this game but the results compare you to everyone else who has done this particular puzzle and it does stimulate me to try to be faster and better. The simple organization is easy to learn and makes for some interesting games.
Ive never played sudoku but really wanted to know what it was about! I obtained this app. and quickly became a fan. The app is user friendly, easy to use and has no quirks. Now Im doing several puzzles a day. This app compares your times to all other users who completed the puzzle by the time you completed it, so you have a good idea of where you stand on the sudoku playing field. Yes there does seem to be a competitive side... so you can channel your pencil warrior (just read a few of the other reviews). This app has HINTS, you can use this feature but will get a time penalty… so will increase your overall time. This app also has a pencil in feature but I dont use it so cant comment about it. I highly recommend this game and will definitely purchase the paid version. GOOD JOB ON THIS APP.
This is a fantasic app! It becomes as easy or hard as I want it to be. Always fresh, easy to use, and has simple yet nice sound and visual effects. I’ve tried other Sudokus and deleted them as they were too busy. With this one, you can’t beat the value :)
I have really enjoyed Sudoko Daily. It has taken my game to a higher level. I particularly like how well it teaches me some of the very advanced solving techniques. Highest Recommendation!!!
Rather than a game app where you just enter numbers or a hint that just shows a number with no explanation, Sudoku Daily offers multi-level hints that are designed to increase your knowledge of the game. I’ve been doing Sudoku puzzles for a while in local newspapers, and thought I was getting pretty good in that I’d always choose the end-of-the-week 4-star versions. While I’d normally just get by, Sudoku Daily introduced me to the ‘Hidden’ squares, which I never looked for specifically in previous efforts but which are becoming SOP moves in my in-game strategy. The wording and overall ‘vibe’ is positive and encouraging - it’s like Justin has a stake in our development into the best players: I believe I am better at solving Sudoku than before I started Sudoku Daily ...
Helpful from beginner to expert. New puzzles daily. My favorite Sudoku program.
Like others, I wanted to learn about Sudoku so I downloaded several apps. This app is by far the most intuitive, most helpful, most well-rounded app I found. I would suggest this app for any Sudoku player. Of course, when you have a tool like this app, you will generate habits that don’t translate to solving the puzzles in the paper (I haven’t looked, but I suppose the settings can modify this items), such as automatic highlighting/coloring. The only thing I would change is the pull-down on the splash page that is required to choose either a saved game or a new puzzle. I understand that Jason wants the splash page advertising and including the pull-down there gives it reason beyond the advertising. However, a time splash page that defaults to a tabbed page with one tab for the saved games and one tab for new puzzles would be slicker. Further, if the tab for saved games only appeared when there were saved games to select would fully polish the game - IMHO.
It’s challenging especially with the various ranges of difficulty. The hints serve as teaching tools in addition to helping me when I am stuck.
I have played Sudoku for a long time. But, playing in a newspaper does not let me compare my speed against pther players This game lets me see how I do against others and I can see that I have a ways to go. Its challenging to improve my speed.
I like the game, but I absolutely hate the “automatic” number business that comes up out of nowhere and you can’t get rid of it without a lot of clicking around. I refer to the number that shows up above the numbers completed panel and only lets you put in a number with your mouse. Get rid of that.
This is everything I wanted in a sudoku game!!!! Thank you so much!!!
I love it. It is challenging, and calming, and a delight to do. Ann.
While I agree that suggestions to use pencil mode should not be a hint (yes, I do use hints occasionally), I find that I’m playing this pretty much every day. The ability to resize the playboard is a big plus for my aging eyes. And while something like KenKen offers a sightly different challenge, the levels in this game give me enough of a mental workout.
